Hotels:

• The two hotels across the street from the Artists' Union offer a very safe and comfortable accommodations. The starting  price for a double room is about $140 a day. For more information check the following sites:  www.comfort-hotel.spb.ru or  www.herzen-hotel.com 
• The Artists' Union hostel has very modest accommodations. The are 6 double/triple rooms on the floor. There are two half baths and one bathroom. There is a kitchen. The price is $30 per person.

Hermitage

Visas:  To obtain a Russian visa you need a letter of invitation. The Comfort Hotel and Herzen House Hotel offer those invitations to their guests for free. You can contact those hotels by phone. The guests of the Artists' Union hostel can obtain such invitation through the international department of the Artists' Union (the cost is about $35.00) There are other opportunities which we are currently investigating.  The cost of the visa itself is $100 with 6-10 days waiting period.
