This is our third Commission Portrait Workshop. As before, the subject of your portrait can be a client, a friend, your children, a spouse, or predecessors. The objective of the workshop is to learn how to do it professionally. We would lead you through the whole process from conceptualization, research and composition, taking photographs, if needed, to drawing and painting a portrait step-by-step.
This time we would like you to get inspired by the masters. It does not have to be very “costumy”, or to look like a cut-and-paste job. You can draw your inspiration from a gesture, lighting, or overall “feel” of a certain master.
As usual, we will meet for a double session once a week, so you have time to do additional work between the sessions. The portraits will be on display at the gallery for the following month.
